MALE AND FEMALE?

PMW 2018-084 by Bill Smith (Kuyperian Commentary)

Gentry note:
With accelerating collapse of American culture and morality, we are witnessing the denial of some of the most basic realities, such as our gender. I have written on this topic myself. But I found this article insightful. If the postmillennial hope is to turn around our culture from its current nose-dive into the void, we must understand the issues. This is a good article for Postmillennial Worldview — even though I have no idea if Bill Smith is a postmillennialist!

Now for the article!

Male and Female?
by Bill Smith (Kuyperian Commentary)

Transgender” people have been around for quite some time. Up until recently, we haven’t really had to take them seriously as a culture. They were always on the fringe. In many ways they still are. However, now our culture is not only tolerating them, but they are being praised for their courage of breaking free from “social constructs” of male and female foisted upon them by the interpretation of their anatomy and becoming the sex (or gender) they really feel they are on the inside. SPIRITUAL SOLUTION TO OPIOID CRISIS

PMW 2018-015 by John Horvat

In times of crisis, we are forced to reexamine our ways and ponder our future. It is in this framework that we need to consider our present economic plight and the charting of our path forward.

In his penetrating analysis of contemporary society, author John Horvat focuses on the present crisis with great insight and clarity. He claims modern economy has become cold, impersonal, and out of balance. Gone are the human elements of honor and trust so essential to our daily lives. Society has discarded the natural restraining influence of the human institutions and values that should temper our economic activities.

Return to Order is a clarion call that invites us to reconnect with those institutions and values by applying the timeless principles of an organic Christian order.

THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION AND THE WITNESS OF THE CHURCH

Abortion on demandPMT 2016-058 by Albert Mohler, Jr.

Gentry note:

The following article from Tabletalk magazine presents the challenge that is before the Church of Jesus Christ. We must pray for revival in the Church that she might arise and re-ignite the progress she promoted in years past. Postmillennialists are not naive: we recognize the downward trend we are currently experiencing. But we remain optimistic for the historical long-run: our God is in heaven and:

“He who sits in the heavens laughs, / The Lord scoffs at them. / Then He will speak to them in His anger / And terrify them in His fury, saying, /‘But as for Me, I have installed My King /Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” (Psa. 2:4–6)

However, Christians today need to be reminded: he uses his people in history to effect his will. This is why he has given us this prayer to pray publically, corporately, and believingly: “’Your kingdom come. Your will be done, / On earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10).

Cultural Rebellion

PMT 2014-066b by Don Strickland

Psalm 2:1 Why are the nations in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!” 4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying, 6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” 7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. 9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'” 10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth. 11 Worship the LORD with reverence And rejoice with trembling. 12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
